Please be advised that repair works will take place at Colwich Lock 21 on the Trent & Mersey Canal on Friday 4 September.

A lock beam has failed, and water is currently escaping from the lock, creating a potentially hazardous situation.

Our Reactive Response Team will attend the site tomorrow morning to carry out repairs and make the area safe.

Navigation is expected to reopen once the repairs have been completed. However, the team will need to return towards the end of next week to undertake secondary works. Further details and timings will be published in a future notice when available.

In the meantime, please exercise caution if you are in the vicinity of the lock.
