Since our last update navigation has now been reopened between Lock 3 and Lock 18 the cobbles have now been replaced at lock 17, however, safety fencing remains in place where coping stones are still missing away from the lock side. Operation of the lock is now safe to use for boaters.
Our local team are currently sourcing replacement coping stones and once available these will be replaced.
We will provide a further update on or before Wednesday 16 September.

Navigation is closed between lock 3 and lock 18 due to suspected vandalism to the cobbles which is used to operate lock 17. The lock area has been fenced off until it has been assessed by our team and a method of repair has been planned. As the damage presents a potential trip hazard, operation of the lock is considered unsafe, and padlocks are in position at lock 3 and lock 18.
A further update will be provided on or before Wednesday 9 September.
