Project P13213 from Todmorden to Border Phase 1:

A towpath restriction will be in place from Monday 10th August for approximately 9 weeks from Lock 19 to Hollins Lane at Rochdale Road. Contractors are carrying out a local authority funded towpath upgrade to create a sealed tar spray and chip surface. This project includes lock landing repairs at Lock 19, wash wall repairs, installation of improved mooring bollards, improving historical surfacing as well as way marking and bench installations. This will improve the area for boaters and the towpath users. The project will take 9 weeks approximately and we will update the notice with the progress as it happens.

• Sectional closures on the towpath will be in place on a rolling basis as the project moves from Lock 19 to Hollins Lane. Pedestrians should follow the signposted diversion routes around the works where applicable.
• Navigation remains open and boaters should be aware of floating plant working within the area. Contractors will be using the locks to move around the site with plant and equipment.
