These components are critical to the operation of the lock gate and are required to enable it to open safely.
The towpath lock will reopen for navigation once the current closure between Locks 60 and 70 has been lifted.

Navigation at Lock 63 offside is now open following the successful completion of repairs. However, a restriction is in place at Lock 63 towpath side due to a leak caused by a damage cill.
Our team is currently on site carrying out repairs to the damaged cill and stop planks will remain in place to enable the repairs to be carried out.
During this period, lock 63 towpath side will remain closed but navigation is passable through the offside lock only.
A further update will be provided on or before Wednesday 29 July.
Navigation is closed between Lock 63 and Lock 65 on the Trent & Mersey Canal due to a leak on the towpath side of Lock 63, caused by damage to the cill, which has resulted in low water levels.
Our team have successfully completed repairs to the offside lock and have now installed stop planks to enable repairs to be carried out on the towpath side. At the same time, we are replenishing water levels to ensure they return to a safe level for navigation.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and work to restore normal navigation as soon as possible.
A further update will be provided on Friday 24 July.
