Navigation will be restricted at Lock 56, Castleton, on the Rochdale Canal, due to works being carried out to the towpath side balance beam.

These works will be taking place between Tuesday 30 June 8am until Wednesday, 1 July at 4pm.

Whilst navigation is restricted, the towpath remains open, however, we request all customers to approach the area with caution and be prepared to stop to allow the equipment to be moved out the way for assisted passage. Please listen and take instruction from our direct services team on site.

We anticipate a wait of no longer than 30 minutes.
