Please be advised that third-party contractors will be carrying out a rope access inspection of Deansgate Viaduct over the Rochdale Canal.

The inspection will take place during the following overnight periods:

Wednesday 10 June to Friday 12 June 2026, between 11:59pm and 8:00am

Saturday 20 June to Sunday 21 June 2026, between 11:59pm and 8:00am

The contractors will be working from the railway structure above, with a safety boat positioned in the canal below.

Navigation and towpath access will remain open throughout the works. However, boaters may be asked to wait for up to 30 minutes while equipment and the safety boat are moved to allow safe passage

Please approach the area with caution, follow any instructions provided by the onsite team, and observe all signage in place.
