Contractors working on behalf of HS2 need to carry out essential works on Bridge 30A (Longhole Viaduct).

To allow these works to take place safely, night-time navigation closures are required. The canal will close each night at 9pm and reopen at 5am the following morning. The towpath will also be restricted during these periods, and short delays should be expected.

The first closure will run from 9pm on 16 June 2026 until 5am on 18 June 2026.

A second closure will take place from 9pm on 25 June 2026 until 5am on 27 June 2026. During these periods the canal will remain open between 5am and 9pm each day.
