Third-party contractors will be on site between Lock 1 and Lock 2 on the Ashton Canal to carry out a drone survey. They will require access to assess the extent of the damage before repairs to the towpath can begin, following damage caused by the recent high winds.
Access to the lock will remain available, however the towpath will be temporarily diverted around the building at this location, using the access points on Great Ancoats Street and Vesta Street.
A further update will be provided on Wednesday 1 April.
