Please be advised that the revised towpath closure dates are from 04/06/26 to 07/07/26, with night time closures only between 21:30 and 05:30.
The reason for the extension is that the contractors have experienced access arrangement issues, which have delayed the start of the works. As a result, the towpath will remain open at night until 04/06/26.
Third-party contractors working on the Wednesbury to Brierley Hill Metro extension will be carrying out night-time works to install a new bridge over the canal as part of the new metro line.
To facilitate these works, the towpath will be closed at night only from:
