Navigation remains restricted to vessels with an air draught not exceeding 7ft 6ins (2.3m) at Town Swing Bridge on the Weaver Navigation, due to an ongoing electrical fault that is currently preventing the safe operation of the bridge.
We are currently under taking further testing and safety checks so the bridge can be brought back into operation as soon as possible.
A further update will be provided on or before Friday 20 March.
Navigation remains restricted to vessels with an air draught not exceeding 7ft 6ins (2.3m) at Town Swing Bridge on the Weaver Navigation, due to an ongoing electrical fault that is currently preventing the safe operation of the bridge.
Our team have successfully installed the invertors that were required for the operation of the bridge and will now continue to carry out essential testing and safety checks so the bridge can be brought back into operation as soon as possible.

We're expecting the invertors to arrive early next week. Once they're here, the team will get everything prepared and installed. After that, we'll carry out all the usual testing and safety checks so the bridge can be brought back into operation as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, the delivery of the required bespoke electrical components has been delayed by the suppliers, and we are still awaiting these parts to complete the repair.

We are still awaiting delivery of specialist bespoke components from our suppliers.
Unfortunately, this is taking longer than initially anticipated due to the nature of these bespoke parts, which we will update next week, when the components are expected to arrive.

Following a test swing carried out today, our teams have identified a fault with one of the electrical components, which is currently preventing the bridge from being safely operated as normal.
Replacement parts have been ordered, and we are now awaiting confirmation of delivery timeframes from our supplier. During this period, navigation will be closed to vessels with an air draught greater than 7 ft 6 ins (2.3 m).

Navigation is restricted to boats with an air draught no greater than 7ft 6ins / 2.3m at Town Swing Bridge on the Weaver Navigation due to an electrical fault which is currently preventing the bridge from being safely operated. Our teams are investigating further.
Navigation will be closed to vessels with air draught greater than 7ft 6ins / 2.3m during this time.
