The repairs have now been completed. Over the weekend, we'll be removing the stop planks and carrying out checks as the canals are refilled.
While this work is ongoing, the towpath will remain closed.
Once the team has finished these final checks, we're hopeful that navigation will reopen on Monday.
A further update will be provided on Monday, 2 February.

The towpath remains closed between Bridge 30, Woods Bridge and Bridge 33, Higherfold Bridge, on the Macclesfield Canal.
Our teams are currently on site repairing the leak that caused the damage to the towpath.

The towpath will be closed between Bridge 30, Woods Bridge and Bridge 33, Higherfold Bridge, on the Macclesfield Canal.
Our teams are currently on site investigating a leak to the sluice, which has caused damage to the towpath.
While the canal will remain open for navigation, we ask all customers to proceed with caution in this area and follow any instructions provided by staff on site.
