Further to the notice below, please see update.
12/01/26: Works have been further delayed due to the contractor carrying out emergency rail works in the area. They will return to site week commencing 12/01/26 to complete the bridge works.
Contractors Walters Group and Ekspan will be working on behalf of Somerset Council to replace the broken pedestrian Swingbridge with new.
The navigation and towpaths will remain open but please approach with caution and follow any instructions from the contractor and observe signs in place.
There may be short delays to allow the contractors to get out of the way for boating customers and pedestrians but these will be kept to a minimum to avoid disruption to journeys.
