We are pleased to confirm that work to replace the paddles at Lock 4 on the Glasson Branch is planned to commence on Monday 02 March, and is expected to take a few days to complete.
Navigation remains closed until the work is completed.
We will provide an update on or before Thursday 05 March.

Navigation remains closed at Lock 4 on the Glasson Branch, due to deteriorated paddles that require replacement.
We continue to wait for replacement paddles from specialist contractors, as they are a unique design, and delivery is taking longer than anticipated.
Due to this we are currently unable to confirm a start date.
We will provide a further update on Friday, 20 February.

Navigation remains closed at Lock 4 on the Glasson Branch, due to the rotten paddles that require a replacement.
Unfortunately we continue to wait for the replacement paddles as they are a unique design, and delivery is taking longer than anticipated.
Due to this we are unable to confirm a start date.
We will provide a further update on Friday, 6 February.

Our teams have completed their investigation and have now confirmed a repair method for the gate paddles at Lock 4.
Due to the unique design of the replacement paddles, the delivery is expected to take several weeks. As a result, we are currently unable to confirm a start date for the repair works until the paddles arrive.
We will provide a further update on Friday, 23 January.

Navigation is currently closed at Lock 4 on the towpath side bottom gate due to a rotten paddle, which is now inoperable.
We are investigating repair options. Please note that the paddles are of a unique design, and if a replacement is required, sourcing specialist parts could take several weeks.
We will provide a further update on Friday, 9 January 2026.
