Third-party contractors will be lifting scaffolding components from a workboat in the canal over the towpath around Salford Junction as part of essential maintenance works on the M6 viaduct. The towpath will remain open during these works; however, users may be asked to wait briefly while lifting operations are underway. Signage and banksmen will be in place to manage traffic flow and ensure safety. The canal will remain open as usual. We kindly ask all users to exercise extra caution when passing through this area.
