A navigation closure is required to carry out essential repairs to the bottom lock gates, which were recently damaged. A temporary fix was implemented at the time to extend operation through the summer, but this stoppage will allow us to complete a more permanent and robust repair. Unfortunately, due to the high likelihood of increased river flows during the Intensive Maintenance Period, we cannot delay the works into the winter months. As a result, we have taken the decision to carry out the repairs from 15 October 2025 to 24 October 2025. Please note: We will open up navigation over the weekend within this stoppage window to help reduce the disruption.
