To enable us to carry out essential repairs to Lock 1 on the Huddersfield Broad Canal via a stoppage in the winter we need to carry out a dive survey of the stop plank grooves before. This is to ensure we have the correct underwater dimensions for the planks, check for damage to the grooves or cill and to check for debris and silt. This is to ensure that the stoppage is planned and carried out safely and efficiently. Customers are asked to proceed with caution there maybe divers in the water. Take instruction from Trust staff and our contractors and obey any notices and signs. The lock will be closed for short durations to ensure the safety of the divers. Customers may have to wait a short period while the divers can safely move to a safe place
