City Road Lock 5 has an inoperable offside bottom gate paddle and a partially operable towpath bottom gate paddle, only opening halfway.
The Regional Reactive Team have been to site to try and free the towpath paddle but were unsuccessful. As the lock is still operable, albeit slow to drain, it will remain open until the bottom gates are replaced as part of the winter works schedule for this year.
Be patient as it will take some time to drain and do not force it.
