As part of the West Midlands Interchange Project, third-party contractors will be installing new bank protection and outfalls into the canal.
To facilitate these works, a porta dam will be installed to enable construction. While the canal will remain open to navigation, please be aware that the porta dam will slightly restrict the navigation width. Appropriate signage and marker buoys will be in place to guide boaters safely through the area.
In addition, a short section of the towpath will be closed to ensure the safety of both workers and the public. A temporary footpath diversion will be provided, directing towpath users around the rear of the work area. Signage and banksmen will be on site to assist and provide guidance.
