The end date of this restriction notice has been updated to reflect the change of the date the repairs, which is now Wednesday 13th August.

We now have a confirmed date for a temporary repair to this lock. This will take place on 5th August and more details on this can be found Lock 18, Stoke Bruerne | Canal & River Trust
Until this time widebeam boats cannot use the lock, however passage will be possible following the repair.

The anchor block that holds the top offside gate has been damaged on Lock 18, Stoke Bruerne. This means the gate won't open.
Narrowboats can still get through, but wide-beam boats will not be able to travel through the lock until repairs have been carried out.
We do not have a timescale for these repairs yet, but will update this notice as soon as we have further information.
