Following a review of the water levels and period of reduced boat traffic, conditions are looking favourable and we're optimistic that Hatton lock flight can operate without restrictions. The current restrictions will be lifted on Wednesday 10th September.
We'll continue to monitor water levels closely. If we see any significant changes, we may need to reintroduce restrictions at short notice.
This restriction remains in place to reduce water demand and allow water levels to recover. Our priority is to reopen the canal to full navigation as soon as possible. We will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates if conditions change.
We thank you for your support in reducing water use across our network, and reporting leaks or concerns via 0303 040 4040 or our Contact Uspage.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates if conditions change. Despite the measures we're taking, there may be extreme local circumstances that require us to take immediate action to temporarily close some stretches to navigation.

We have continued to monitor the exceptionally dry conditions and their impact on our reservoirs. Unfortunately, despite all operational efforts to reduce water demand, rainfall remains well below the long-term average, and the situation has not improved.
To help conserve water, from Wednesday 9th July we will be introducing restrictions across canals in the Birmingham area. This will affect Ryders Green, Hatton & Wolverhampton Lock Flight.
