Updates
23 June 2025 at 17:01
The expected tide today was not sufficient to enable the crane boat to move off the low mooring and it remains adjacent to a sandbar and impeding the available navigation. We've moved a tugboat to site, hoping to aid the crane boat to move on tomorrow's high tide. A further update will be shared by 6pm tomorrow.

The lack of rainfall and subsequent low water levels have meant that the lock approach dredging that would usually be undertaken on the River Trent in spring has not been possible (further information on this advisory notice) and a Trust crane boat is now stuck on a low mooring adjacent to a sandbar, impeding the available navigation.
Several passing boats subsequently became stuck yesterday and so we will be closing the navigation until we have been able to move the obstructing boat, or the water levels rise sufficiently to enable boats to safely pass it.
We will update this notice as soon as we have more information.
