Further to the notice below, we are pleased to advise that all repairs to the lock gates at County Lock have now been completed.

The lock is now open and fully operational.

Further to the notice below, the first stage of the works have now been completed and County Lock is now open.

Second stage works will commence on Wednesday 25th June until Friday 27th June.

The lock will be closed again whilst the second phase of works proceed.

Please be advised that emergency works are required to replace the lock beams at County Lock.  

Continued monitoring by our engineering teams have marked the rapid deterioration of the beams over a short space of time. Whilst we have the opportunity before the end of June we intend to replace all four beams. To minimise impact to our customers the stoppage will be split with two beams replaced from Wednesday 18th to Friday 20th, then the second set from Wednesday 25th to 27th. The lock will be closed whilst the works proceed.  

We understand the frustration this may cause however the work is required to minimise further unnecessary unplanned stoppages later in the year.
