Updates
Navigation remains closed at Lock 2 on the Rufford Branch of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal due to a blockage in the paddle mechanism. Works are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, when we hope to reopen navigation using one paddle by installing a temporary plate in the paddle chamber. If successful, this temporary solution will allow passage, although our boating customers may experience a little longer refill time for the lock. We expect the full repair to begin around 16 June. A further update will be provided on Tuesday, 10 June.
6/6/2025Navigation is currently closed at Lock 2 on the Rufford Branch of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal due to a blockage in the paddle mechanism. Our team attended the site today and attempted to carry out repairs, but unfortunately, they were not successful. Repair plans are currently being developed. A further update will be provided on Friday, 6 June.
