Northern Powergrid have informed us of scheduled planned work which will temporarily interrupt the power supply to Aldwarke Lock. The reason for the work is to undertake essential vegetation management on the overhead network that helps to supply power to properties in the area. In order to minimise disruption, Northern Powergrid will connect the supply in the area to a generator. The times and dates of the connection and disconnection to the generator are as follows:- Connection to the generator:- Wednesday, 11th June 2025 between 9am and 12:30pm Disconnection from the generator:- Thursday, 12th June 2025 between 3pm and 03:30am Northern Powergrid aim to carry out the work as quickly and effectively as possible. Boaters are requested not to make any attempt to enter the lock unless they will be clear of the lock during these times.
