Unfortunately, this stoppage has been extended by a week. During the dismantling of the gates, components not originally scheduled for replacement were found to be in poor condition. This extension will allow our technicians to carry out a full assessment and formalise a solution. In the meantime, the onsite team is progressing with repairs to the lock cill, which was also found to be in poor condition during the dewatering process.

Due to concerns over the likelihood of flooding at this lock in winter, the team have brought these works forward to September, taking advantage of the current canal closure at this location to minimise disruption.
