Updates
There is a navigation restriction and towpath closure as third-party contractors will be working in the waterway with a pontoon. The contractors are undertaking emergency flood embankment repairs on behalf of the Environment Agency. For users on the towpath - a diversion will be in place. For users on the waterway - please co-operate with requests from site staff. Boaters may be asked to wait up to 30 mins for a task to be completed.
5/1/2025A pontoon is being assembled on the towpath side of the canal. The pontoon will operate in this area for the next 6 months. Caution signs will be in place. Please proceed carefully in this area and co-operate with requests from site staff.
